An Oxwich Bay Hotel wedding
Kate and Pete are from Birmingham, they fell in Love with the Gower after many camping holidays. They booked me for their Oxwich Bay Hotel wedding photography after meeting at the hotel’s wedding fayre. They also had an engagement shoot which you can see here
The day began at a rented farmhouse where the family were staying. I was joined by Lucie Summerfield who did a brilliant job on Kate and her bridesmaid’s hair. Pete stayed in another location overnight but arrived in the morning with his best-man to take their children to Oxwich beach for a play while mum was getting ready.
Kate and Pete married in an emotional civil ceremony at the Oxwich Bay Hotel, they then walked to the marquee followed by their guests, most had never seen this beautiful part of the world and were blown away by the views.
For the couples photographs we used the woods behind the marquee, it was a hot day and the beach was very busy so a bit of privacy was needed.
The reception had a beachy theme with a sandy, shell covered wedding cake, place settings with pictures of their favourite beaches in the Gower and a giant surfboard shaped table plan.
Finally before the sun set and the evening party started, Kate, Pete, their family and some friends went for a stroll on the now much quieter Oxwich beach. They can’t get enough of the ocean and Kate hitched up her wedding dress to go for a paddle.
This was one of the most chilled out weddings of my summer season and Kate and Pete have been an absolute pleasure. I hope you enjoy the pictures of their day.
