Welcome to Lucy and Graham’s South African themed, Welsh wedding. The venue Plas Glansevin is an amazing house surrounded by fantastic gardens and countryside. The family that own the house have South African connections which suited Lucy and Graham perfectly. They live in Mozambique, Lucy found me via the wedding blog Rock My Wedding who have featured my weddings in the past. Lucy is from Carmarthenshire, West Wales, Graham is from South Africa so friends and family came together from across the globe, this was represented in the wedding stationary and bracelets made for the bridesmaids by the title ‘Under The Same Stars’ meaning that every time Lucy’s friends and family look up in the night’s sky they are all together.
It was not your normal wedding day schedule, all of the bridal party and guests made the most of the beautiful weather, the gardens and swimming pool in the morning. A relaxed buffet lunch was held for everyone together and the wedding was held in the afternoon. The ceremony was held under a large oak tree in the front garden of the venue, my first outdoor wedding and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting. The wedding breakfast was set up on trestle tables in the back garden, decorated with Lucy and her mother’s creations, including African themed fabrics for the place settings, aprons for the catering staff and hats for the guests at each table who served their tables meal.
As the light faded everyone moved in to the house where a DJ kept the dance floor bouncing all night.
