Photography has always been a passion for me, all types of photography, and I feel very lucky that I have been able to do this professionally for twenty years. I always wanted to be a photojournalist. I trained, inspired by some of the greatest reportage photographers of the 20th century. For over ten years I photographed for the UK’s national newspapers and magazines, I developed a strong client base in advertising and PR photography. The bottom line is that I love taking pictures of people and this is why I enjoy wedding photography so much.
I love capturing all the little details especially the ones that are so personal to you, the moments you don’t see and the moments you didn’t think anybody else saw. I also see part of my job is to keep you calm, help you if I can and make you both feel at ease throughout the whole day. I sympathise with couples trying to organise this part of their big day, there is a lot of choice out there. But in the end it comes down to how you want your story told and who you trust to capture it.
I will never finish learning new things. I’m a self confessed camera geek and photography is a constantly evolving art form, you have to be willing to discover and try new things to keep it fresh but at the same time I want my work to remain natural, so no flavour of the month photoshop presets to make you look like an instagram snap.
